Squishing the bug is the rotating on the ball of the back foot after the hips come through. You want to be careful that you don't 'squish the bug' too early as it will cause you to 'spin off the ball' or not hit it center. Squishing the bug happens because the body turns, the body doesn't turn because you are squishing the ball.
