Pretty Lordlings. Ty pops OUT. Colts smooth criminals.

soccer3.jpgQuick update from the Brigade.

The Colts season has kicked off well, not great, but well.  Lets face it, that Miami team played the best game they had played in years against the Colts.  They executed a flawless gameplan.  Manning just didn't feel like losing.  When we HAD to have a touchdown, we went and sniffed one out.  Props to Pierre for the motor skills and vision.  Go over to Arin it Out to read his interview with Colts receiver Pierre Garcon.  The Colts defense is still bad in the middle, now that they have gotten bigger, they still lack talent.  Penetration in the middle of the line can distrupt the Wildcat, we don't have it.  I think we will be better against the run when we play more conventional teams.

Fighting Cocks softball is moving right along.  Bruce Paine is due for a meltdown, though.  For the last 6 to 8 weeks I have been playing pretty well, better than usual.  If the softball Gods understand hubris, and I am sure they do, tonight I may be starin 0-fer in the face.  I am not sure but I may be able to go 0-fer and still lead the team in batting average, which is saying something since I finished the Spring season next to last.

Tomorrow morning I leave for Chicago to attend Cobra's wedding, which is interesting since I recently discovered I am IN the wedding.  There are schedules for this that and the other but I will ignore them all and just drink.  My woman is going too so if I get he drunk she might break a piece off for me, but now that I have said it, she probably won't.  I close with one of my favorite bis of Shakespeare, which you can find in A Winter's Tale.  I am removing Hermione's question to provide better flow to the phrase.

"Two lads that thought there was nor more behind

but such a day tomorrow as today.

And to be boy eternal.

We were as twinned lambs that did frisk in the sun,

and bleat the day the one to the other. What we changed

was innocence for innocence.  We knew not

the doctrine of ill-doing,

nor dreamed that any did."
