 That was the quote of the MCP Fighting Cocks softball game tonight. Sometimes, when you are playing recreation softball, you get umpires who aren't so good at calling games or knowing anything about the game. They probably need or want the extra work and I am glad they are willing to do it for us. It is a tough, thinkless (no I mean thankless) job and sometimes you just get it wrong. Still, they get paid well enough and they should try to do well. Tonight the umps were so bad that it was comical. They called plays wrong when they weren't that close and they called things wrong when they were. We were lucky, though, because they seemed to be willing to make make-up calls the other way when they understood that they had screwed up. At one point it was comical enough for the Hot Tub to chuckle the immortal words, "She's as green as a June tomato." That was really funny to me.
