Undisciplined - That's how I would describe the Indiana Hoosiers right now. Actually, you could have said that multiple times throughout this season, but it came out glaringly on Sunday as the Hoosiers were beaten like a red headed step child by the Michigan St. Spartans. The game was never close as the Spartans came out firing and hitting frequently. Their first half shooting percentage was 143%. Serious.....they scored 59 points in the first half on while only hitting 12 shots. I don't know how they did, but mine eyes saw it. They were shooting so well the scorekeeper was just giving them free points in anticipation of made field goals. Luckily the Sparans cooled down in the second half and only scored 44 points on 76.9826392452% shooting to total a whopping 103 points to the Hoosiers lowly 74. This was bound to happen with how the Hoosiers have been playing since Kelvin Sampson's departure. One could blame this lacking play on that fact, but we all know the Hoosiers were at the Tipping Point all season to be either really good or a glaringly flawed team who doesn't put max effort into the game!
Reunification - With the NFL combine ending the new big story is that Randy Moss and Dante Culpepper may reunite as a dynamic QB/WR combo. First they must sign with the same team and then Culpepper must prove he is capable of delivering a nice ball to a receiver. Should this happen, it will be much easier for Culpepper to prove seeing that you know Randy Moss is.....talented/gifted at the WR position. In all honesty though, why would Moss leave the Patriots? He's got arguably the best QB in the league already who obviously has no qualms about throwing the ball to Moss. Just doesn't make much sense!
Goats, Curses, Broken Phalanges and Godzilla - Here we go.......Cubs fans are coming into this baseball season on a high led by the ever confident Ryan Dempster. They are for sure this is their year as usual. Not so fast, the bad juju is already making it's way into the Cubbies ether. Alfonso Soriano suffered a broken finger on Sunday and is slated to miss five days or so. Ya, this may be small news, but we all know how this works with the Cubs. First, DeRosa has a heart problem, then Soriano breaks his finger, next Godzilla himself will pluck Fukudome from the field while rounding first base on his first official hit as a Cubs. It'll be anarchy!!!!!!
You Guys is Crazy! - Gotta love/hate the Yankees and Red Sox rivalry. Love if you are a fan of either team, hate if you are anyone else.
WWE and NHL: One In the Same - Who knew that NHL players utilized the WWE naming convention for their own names. Here is a top 10 list of the best names in hockey. I would love to see a barb-wire match between Bear Trapp and Ben Blood.
Ides of March - It's officially March now folks. Time to start getting all crazy for March Madness!!!!!!!! Do you know where your team stands in the mix at this moment? If not, Joe Lunardi does. Joe Lunardi knows all and he should BE the Selection Committee. |
1) Undisciplined is an understatement. Thankfully, they switched to Arizona/UCLA in my market so I didn't have to watch the end of that travesty. Hopefully, this will provide the wake-up call the Hoosiers need in order to get past the Sampson headache.
2) The only reason I can see Moss doing that is that he can get more money somewhere else. I heard Philly is a big player.
3) What? No mention of Felix Pie's twisted testicle!?!
6) Lunardi annoys me. Mostly his claims of intense accuracy are always a little skewed because he just plugs in "NEC Champion/Robert Morris" into his sheet. He should actually try predicting the outcomes of the tourneys.
For the purposes of useless knowledge, the Ides of March is the 15th. Caesar was killed on 15 March, 44 BC in the Theatre of Pompey (not the floor of the Senate as many would believe). The Senate had burned (the building, not the people...yet) and was undergoing refurbishing.
The Theatre of Pompey was a massive structure that Pompey Magnus had built in 55BC to curry favor. It, like the rest of Rome, would eventually be covered over and built on top of. Little excavation was done on the structre, as it had been torn down to its basement levels over time and built atop. There was a time, however, when you could go into the backroom of a small cafe on the Largo di Torre Argentina and go down dirt steps into a basement. There, if you brushed the dirt floor aside, you could find the tiled floor of the theatre's basement. Archeology has been unable to produce much else.
when i heard about the supposed culpepper/moss reunion conversation, i thought:
1) didn't they have issues with each other during their last season together?
2) why is this news?
3) who tipped off reporters that these guys are talking?
4) why would anyone sign culpepper, even if it meant getting moss, too (but, having culpepper protected by the vikings line as well as the running threat of adrian peterson would be... interesting)?
5) nipples.
Before the IU game, I really didn't think we had a chance but I thought it would be a 13-16 point game not 30+ for most of the game. MSU is great at home and throw in Senior Day in addition to our swiss cheese zone that we've been playing and that type of outcome was bound to happen. Culpepper is terrible so I don't think a team is going to take on both of these guys.
I had a break just like Soriano's and it's no big deal. He'll be back in no time.
Lunardi is money. He's a lot better than all the "I think" guys who just throw out guesses. It must have been cold in that room.
I'm sorry, did you expect me to read something after that photo?
I didn't expect anyone to read any of this considering that those nipples could very possibly poke out both eyes.
Does anyone care about anything Bruce Paine ever says?
I think a wide variety of people care and respect Bruce's comments and contributions to the site. He brings a whole different dynamic, a fresh point of view if you will.
Now the question is.....does anyone care what I say? I think the answer is a resounding NO. And that is why I resort to posting pictures such as the one heading this post. After seeing Kate Beckinsdale's THO (titty hard on) it doesn't matter much what I write, you will still think it was Dickensian.
I'm a bit of a history buff. I found the historical correction of the murder (deposing) of Caesar quite interesting.
