Golfer Trip Isenhour is in some trouble with the law these days. Not for what you would usually expect though. There was no alcohol involved, no domestic disputes, not even manslaughter. Well.....there was slaughter involved, just not with a person. Isenhour is charged with killing a migratory bird and cruelty to animals after hitting and killing a red-shouldered hawk with a golf ball during a television segment. The hawk is a protected species. The fracas came about when the bird wouldn't shut up and caused the film crew to film multiple takes. Isenhour, thinking he would scare the bird away hit golf balls in its general direction. However, on about the 10th shot Isenhour connected with his target and the bird dropped dead from the tree.
Isenhour faces a max penalty of 14 years in jail and a $1,500 fine and the probable scorn of many a PETA follower. That's quite a bounty for killing a bird. Not only does Isenhour have to deal with the ramifications of his actions, but he has to live knowing that it took him 10 shots to hit the bird while it would have taken Tiger only 1.

2008 Cubs Preview
I'm no PETA supporter, but this guy should get everything that's coming to him. Taking one shot might have been a little bit funny, but ten shots? Come on. He had to figure there was a pretty decent chance of hitting the bird at some point, which means this was a premeditated act of cruelty.
Oh, and the man was golfing outside, right? This wasn't some crazy indoor course? Seems to me the bird was in its natural domain.
Golfers are whiners anyway. I'd love to see basketball, football and baseball players get really angry when someone in a crowd sneezes or starts talking (or a bird squawks) right before they take a shot, throw a pass, or swing the bat.
I'd have to agree somewhat. My post doesn't necessarily portray that thought, but after I wrote it I saw an updated article that said the guy tried to hit the hawk on separate occasions. He also made some comments that made. I'm not sure if the dude should get jail time, but a nice fine would be called for. Of course, I don't know how "protected" the bird was either.
Eisenhour should be tied to a tree on the same golf course sho birds could shit on him...Papa Eisenhour raised one dumb and sadistic kid. Papa also raised a kid who will lie to anyone to stay out of trouble. There is no doubt he intended to hit and kill the bird. Bet he takes shots at dogs who run onto a green and steal his balls.
My dog has actually done that. My parents live on a golf course and a par 3 green is right behind their house. Dog went right up to the green and snatched it up. She likes to chew on the golf balls.
