Well, that didn't last long. Five carries into his comeback and RB Ricky Williams is done for the season. For some reason I always want to put an 'e' in his first name. I'm not sure why.
The Miami Dolphins
running back, who was reinstated last month after a one-year suspension
for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, suffered a torn chest
muscle in the Dolphins' 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, the Palm Beach Post reported, citing an unnamed source.
The injury apparently happened when Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons, pursuing a Williams fumble, stepped on Williams' right shoulder blade.
I believe Williams was only coming back to the NFL because of the signing bonus money the Dolphins were going to make him pay back if he didn't so, I don't think this is a huge loss to the league. I've always kind of liked Williams. He ran really hard when he played at Texas and I know he had some issues with depression and dealing with the media in New Orleans, so maybe I kind of sorry for him. Either way, he's done for the season, which is good news for my fantasy team since I have the other Miami RB Jesse Chatman.
My shoulder hurt after watching the guy step on him. I guess Ricky gets my sympathy vote because of his mental instability. What do you expect this year when trying to make a comeback with the Dolphins anyway.
