Cobra NFL Player of the Week: Adrian Peterson

adrianpeterson.jpgWhen I have something to write about but I'm not sure how to go about it....I just make stuff up. So, in an effort to talk about the other-wordly performance Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson had yesterday, I'm going to call him the Cobra NFL Player of the Week because he rushed for a NFL Record 295 yards yesterday. I'm going to ship Peterson a trophy for his efforts and every Cobra NFL Player of the Week will receive the same treatment in the future.

Peterson has been special all year long. He ran for 224 yards against the Bears earlier this season, he'srushed for over 100 yards five times and he's already over 1,000 yards (1,036 to be exact) in just eight games. He's a freak of nature, and has always been that way. He hits an open hole like a porn star trying to make some extra cash and his speed carries him away from defensive backs in pursuit. He runs like his legs are on fire and his heart is about to explode. It's as if his long lost love is waiting for him at the goal line and he will do whatever it takes to meet her.

Peterson is a very good thing for Minnesota since it's cold in the Winter, they are about to lose Torii Hunter, their college team isn't very good and the Vikings....aren't that much better. Peterson brings a ray of hope to their city each and every Sunday that he suits up for him.

*I'd throw up the video of Peterson breaking the record, but the NFL is stingy with their highlights (greedy bastards). If you want to view the highlights from Peterson's big day, go here.

I really think in the next 5 years AP could challenge Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record. Maybe with a good QB, he wouldn't run as much...but I think he is talented enough to do it. Tearing up that SD defense like that is just unreal in my opinion.
