I remember when my Sister and I used to watch 'What's Happening!!' and 'What's Happening Now!!' on WFLD-Fox when we were growing up. My Dad would always come home from work and my Sister would be trying to do the 'Re-Run' in the living room and he would yell at her. It wasn't uncommon for her to get yelled at, but it was funny nonetheless. I'm not even sure what the show was about, but at the time it was funny. Then again, I was like 5 and everything was funny to me. I thought for sure that Rog would go on and do bigger and better things...and I don't mean Shirley.
If you are tired of Cubs related posts, this is your break....enjoy it.
The Lovely Dentist has signed us up for a 5k at the end of this month. That's not such a big deal, but the catch is....it's a Halloween race and we'll be racing in costumes. For the past couple of weeks we've been going back and forth on what we are going to dress up as and I think last night we finally decided that we were going to dress up as sheep with numbers. I guess that's for like counting sheep in your sleep or something. I don't know, she's in charge of this stuff.
This will be my first official race since....7th grade and I've just started to train for it. Normally I wouldn't train for a 5k race, but the fact that I'm going to be wearing a costume is kind of a daunting task. I'm not going to be trying to win the race or anything like that, but I don't want to look like I'm dying out there in the costume while sweating my balls off.
On to some other things that really aren't newsworthy, but should take up some space:
- I've been catching some crap for my MLB playoff picks since I picked all of them incorrectly. I've told you guys multiple times that I'm not good at picking games. I'm not sure why I struggle at it (look at my NFL confidence picks, too), but I'm just happy I didn't have any money on the games.
- I'm calling in to have my Cable TV turned off today. It was nice while it lasted but I came to the conclusion that there are too many channels. I must have ADD or something because it's hard for me to sit through a TV show without flipping around and seeing what is on the other channels. By the time I make it back to the initial channel, the show is over.
- FoxSports.com is absolutely killing my fantasy football team. More to come on that at a later date. If you have a fantasy team over there I encourage you to quit.
- I bought some stock in Google a few years ago and I'm feeling pretty good about it now....
- I'm done with my 'Ladies Day' entries. It was fun while it lasted, but I think the ladies of the blogosphere have caught up with the men at this point.

I was saddened when I learned just yesterday that Rerun is dead. Unfortunately, learning that news also made me remember that Shirley also died. Two incredibly obese people, who would have thunk it. Next you'll tell me Chris Farley died.
Oh, and you know how I know you're gay: agreeing to wear a sheep costume. Why don't you just tie the backend of the sheep costume around your waist. At least that would be funnier. Non sports posts are fun.
Rerun and Shirley are dead?!?! That just ruined my day. the last I saw of Rerun was on an episode of 'Scrubs'
well without cable you won't be reminded anymore.
Speaking of obese people, I suggest that you dress up in a fat suit to run the 5k. Give yourself a bit of a challenge with all the extra weight. I agree with gianluca. That sheep costume is not an option.
yeah, no way I'm dressing up in a fat suit. I'd prefer to not die or sweat to death....
good thing the race wasn't last weekend in Chicago. Bring your own water and defiberalator just in case.
To be honest, I've never heard of "What's Happening." Someone is going to have to explain the plot of this series. I don't remember watching much TV under the age of 10. I think I started watching shows right about when Saved by The Bell came on. Oh yes, Kelly Kapowski.
PEOPLE!
the cubs have put out there "tentative" schedule for next year.
www.cubs.com
Here are some highlights.
Open at Wrigley vs. Milwaukee. Play a Heavy NL Central Schedule with Philly, and the mets, and the Rockies in there too.
Take our first roadtrip out west on June 2nd @ SD then 4 vs. LA. We go back out at the end of the month to play SF for 4.
Crosstown Classic happens a week apart 6/20-6/22 at the friendly confines. and 6/27-6/29 at the cell.
We finish NL Central Heavy vs. Milwaukee (there). The only non-NL Central game is vs. the Mets @ Shea September 22-25 for a 4 game set.
Interleague we play @ Toronto (im going) and @ Tampa Bay. Baltimore comes to Chicago (i think for the first time ever).
GO CUBS.
I don't think people realize that you bought google stock when it was like a hundred bucks or something...
enough talk about shirley's afro and raj's little sister.
Cubs.
i bought google in the 410's actually. i'm not complaining.
buying more of the hot seats for next year with those capital gains. Jack, you gotta come back for a game, on google.
I remember the day Rerun died. It was about, I don't know, like four years ago? Anyway, the week before Bolivian Mark came up to me at lunch, and asked me if I would do him a favor:
"Sure, what is it?"
"Um, I'm going to check out a class, and was wondering if you would join me"
"What kind of class?"
"Popping and locking".
He then sent me an e-mail with a website. On it was the funniest video I've ever seen... basically it was a fat white guy, in his kitchen, wearing a red beret... he looked exactly like a white Rerun, actually. He presses play, and KC and the Sunshine Band (I'm Your Boogie Man) starts playing, and he immediately breaks into some Rerun-like moves. (FYI: It was this guy, but a different video I couldn't find)
Anyway, now inspired, we checked out the class, looked ridiculous (mind you, I grew up around breaking... I just never picked it up), and a week later Rerun died. I can honest say I couldn't have appreciate the man's talents anymore than I did at that time....
SML, that's the best comment this website has seen. hilarious.
I guess that to receive the mortgage loans from creditors you should present a great motivation. However, one time I have received a bank loan, just because I wanted to buy a building.
