Apparently there is this ridiculous game that some bloggers play that is called, 'Tag'. The Redhead tagged me in her tag post, so now I have to write one for myself. Actually, I don't HAVE to write it, but in order to get her to stop writing those outrageous Book Club posts I have to write this. So, here you go. It's Halloween, you get a picture of a cheerleader and you get to learn more about me. I bet that's more than what you were hoping for this Halloween.
The rules of the game:
A) Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
B) Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
C)
Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their
blogs.
D)
Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on
their blog.
Alright...onto the 7 facts about Jack Cobra:
1.) I used to write for another blog before Cobra Brigade started up. It started out with 3-4 friends who were supposed to write about sports on their assigned days. I ended up writing more posts than all of the other people combined, yet their votes when it came to 'site layout', 'advertisers', etc. counted the same as mine. I found this pretty ridiculous, so I left to start my own site. I felt that if I was the one doing the work, and the one bringing the readers to the site...then I should have more say as to how things were going to be operating.
When I announced I was leaving to start a site with a different group of friends I was sent some harsh emails from the guy who put the site together and I have not really talked to any of the original authors/former friends since. I believe they thought Cobra Brigade would fail, but in reality...we get more hits and acclaim then the other site ever did and we are having more fun doing it.
It was mentioned to me that I was given the blame as to why the site shut down immediately after I left and became known as a bad guy in that social circle. There were events that I wasn't invited to any longer and people who didn't talk to me. I believe that if they would have just followed through on their commitment then none of that would have happened. That's the real story and that's the first time that's been told in public. I'd say I'm better off where I am now.
2.) I would eat the same thing for lunch every day if it was possible. I think that I should stick with what works.
3.) 407, 5, 7, 12, 14, 15, 410 and 27 are numbers that mean something to me in life.
4.) I worked as a Summer Day Camp Counselor for the YMCA for two summers while in college. I did it mostly for the cool field trips, female counselors and the easy sun tan, but sometimes we would go to the beach/pool and the female counselors would tell the kids to try to dunk me (get my head underwater). No matter how many kids they had....they couldn't do it. To this day a) I've never been dunked by kids and b) I believe I could beat up 22 kids in a fight.
5.) I wear Nike and only Nike when it comes to athletic shoes.
6.) I just finished a full 82 game season of NBA Live '06 last night and lost in the NBA Finals 4-2 to the Nuggets. I had been playing that season since January and made it my personal goal to finish before November. I made it by one day. I make personal goals and then I exceed them. I rarely play video games as I only own two actual games and don't have time for it.
7.) Jay-Z is my favorite music artist. Seriously.
Now I'm like, supposed to tag seven other bloggers. I'll pick seven bloggers with nothing else to do. Extra P, Boney, SML, Erin, Arin, Jordi and ATHooks.

Interesting story about your old blog. I'm glad you're happy here, Jack. I really glad it worked out, though it sounds like there are still some sore feelings from the other guys.
The Nike thing used to be me, until I got a pair of New Balance sneakers for running. I have to admit if you are serious about running, they are pretty nice. And obviously I acknowledge they aren't even the best... there are better running brands.
But I get it - #2 and #5 illustrate that you stick with what you like. Loyalty, I guess.
Funny, I was thinking of starting a season in the latest NBA Live, which I haven't played since 2000, just to have something to do. I ended up deciding to do guitar playing again.
Since we're all sharing. I have a nike swoosh tatoo on my leg and love in my heart.
I had a professional web analyst look at our site a few weeks back and tell me what he thought. He was pretty critical of my behavior as a blogger and really appreciative of jack's. One thing he said about blogs that really stuck with me was that bloggin was incestuous to an extent. he talked about how one blogger feeds off another and they create interlinked conversational networks and pretend web families and stuff. i pretty much ignored him until now. He was absolutely right and now I see hwy he has a job doing nothing.
Excellent job in putting my Book Club to bed forever - I salute you. Having said that...you can't just say you would eat the same lunch every day for the rest of your life and then NOT say what the lunch is!
Bruce, I hear you complaining but I think all you want is acceptance....
