Normally I'm a pretty avid fantasy sports participant but with my work blocking all Yahoo! Fantasy Sports sites and less time on my hands because of other endeavors, I am only participating in two fantasy football leagues this year. One is through Yahoo! with a bunch of bloggers from Epic Carnival, and the other is through FoxSports with some members of my family. I have to say that I was looking forward to the FoxSports league because of the trash talk that could ensue around Thanksgiving time since I'm a pretty good Fantasy Football player (Imagine that?), but so far the league has been filled with nothing but frustration.....
Before I delve into this too deeply let me say this, right now my team is 5-1 and I am in a first place tie. I wasn't able to participate in the live online draft because I was out of town for work, but I've slowly been able to make a few trades (Adrian Peterson for T.O and Jamal Lewis/Derrick Ward for Marvin Harrison) to solidify my poor receiving corps to match my decent running back and quarterback corps. So, in that sense, I've been working hard to be successful since missing the live draft usually means a death sentence in fantasy leagues. I've found some owners willing to trade and a commish who's willing to work hard to make the league fun....I have no qualms about any of that.
I do have a problem with FoxSports.com. Their Fantasy Football set-up sucks. Plan and simple. If any of you are participating in it, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about and please send their 'Help Desk' an email detailing your frustration. If any of you are thinking about signing up for one of their leagues because you can actually participate while at work and get free scoring updates....don't. It's a waste of your time.
To begin with...it's been a complete clusterfuck since the beginning of the season. The waiver wire on this system absolutely sucks. I can understand maybe freezing rosters on Sunday/Monday and maybe, maybe Tuesday....but on FoxSports I'm not getting close to being able to make roster moves until Wednesday/Thursday....at the earliest. That's horrendous. Next, that trade I made for Marvin Harrison that I detailed above??? I made that trade on October 5th. It was accepted on October 5th. It was approved by the Commissioner on October 5th. There was finally a change to my roster....this morning. Eleven days and many emails later. The Lovely Dentist knew more about this trade by the time this trade went through because of my constant complaining about it. Next, the scoring and standings are rarely correct. Just this morning I went in to check to see how the league stands now after six weeks and apparently....every one of us is 0-0. Awesome. You want to know how many total points my team has? Me too. Your guess is as good as mine. I have some players coming up on bye weeks and I'm trying to set my roster up for Week 7 but.....roster is frozen. Roster is frozen! I can't even substitute around the players I have to see what kind of a mix I have. The damn roster is frozen! That's my roster, the players I already have. The players I've had for most of the season. I can do nothing with them. Nothing but get frustrated and mad.
Running a fantasy football league can't be this hard. I've played on Yahoo! for years and have had nothing but seamless transactions and quality leagues. Sure, I don't get free, live scoring updates, but at least I can maneuver around my roster when I want to. Why can't FoxSports.com figure out how to do this correctly?

I played in a foxsports.com league last year and really didn't have any problems. But, it was a league that i didn't care that much about (no money bet) so I rarely spent too much time with it. I do remember the presentation being horrible.
Only pride is on the line here......that's worth more than money....
