As I stated before, I'm not the biggest NFL fan. I don't really sit around on Sunday and Monday watching the games and the only reason I pay attention is because of my fantasy football leagues and so I can have conversations with my friends from time to time about what happened.
That being said, I do know some things about football as I played football, grew up in a family that watched football and we had a lot of people in our family playing football. My fantasy football teams are always very competitive and while I can tell you why certain teams are successful why other teams are not.....I'm going to leave that up to Bruce Paine, for the most part, this season.
I want to get my predictions out there in the open so I have something to look back at when the season ends and so you guys have something to make fun of me about as the season progresses. Here is my 'expert' opinion for how the season will play out. By 'expert opinion' I mean.....my complete guesses. Feel free to give your predictions in the comments section.

my interest in pro's has lessened over the years and really was more excited for college to start. I think another problem with the pros was when my team's rubber faced egomaniacal owner hired sociopath Barry Switzer.
However, my addiction to multiple fantasy leagues keeps me glued to the tv and computers further alienating me from family. After joining a college fantasy league two years ago, I made a cardboard cutout of myself similar to JoePa and just loop a tape of my voice yelling about homework and the cleanliness of our home which runs continuously from August 15th through the new year.
great breakdown
Jets are better than Buffalo. Even though losman came on last year the Jets are a better squad if they get solid qb play. San Diego is better than denver but denver will still get the wild card. baltimore can't beat the colts in the playoffs but san diego can. If san diego were to make it past baltimore it may change things a little. Green Bay is better than Minnesota and New Orleans will be more consistent than Carolina offensively. i would say either New orleans or Caroline is your wild card instead of Cards. I think the window is closed on Philly and I believe your Cowboys are better than them now. Cowboys in Super Bowl. Colts have to beat a team they haven't performed well against to repeat.
I just don't like the Jets...never have, never will. I don't like their QB and their RB. I think Buffalo has a shot since they played well at the end last season. As for San Diego....the new coach scares me, especially with all of the assistants vacating with Schottenheimer.
In the NFC I dislike Green Bay because of Favre and their offense and I think there is an injury or four looming in N.O......Philly played really well last season before McNabb went down and you can't count out Westbrook. Their Def. Coordinator was throwing out some new looks in the pre-season, much to the dismay of the competition, so I think they may have something up their sleeves.I don't like the Cowboys coach, or the volatility of their team, so that's why Philly moves on, plus Philly has a lot of experience.
Don't get me wrong, you make good points, but it is hard to deny that the Jets have momentum, drew brees has always been a winner, and that Philly has been fragile over the last 3 seasons.
I don't see how the Jets have momentum? Their QB is mediocre, at best, and their RB did nothing before being in the Chicago system. Who knows if he'll be successful with the Jets....I like Brees, it's some of the other guys on N.O. that I wonder about. I wasn't sold on them last season, and I'm still not this season. Philly has been fragile, I agree, but I just think if they make it to the playoffs they are going to be really dangerous because of their experience.
They made the playoffs with a first year head coach, they signed the best free agent on the market, yes I know adalius thomas was there but there is no avoiding the leadership of Thomas Jones, he was the only thing that helped the Bears score last year. As soona s he left the Super Bowl it was game over for the Bears, they had no one to cover Grossmans mistakes.
Stud, end of discussion. Yes Pennington may not be great, but all he has to do is play well, not great, well. If he can do that they are a wild card favorite with Denver. though i reserve the right to say that the Titans have a shot.
I think that Jones was a product of the offense that the Bears were running. They were putting him in position to do well with the plays they were calling. He nearly lost his job down the stretch, don't forget that, because he couldn't get the 'tough yards'. i don't know if the Jets offense is built to put him in a position to succeed. I'm not 100% certain what their offense is like. He does best when he gets a lot of catches, I don't know if they are inclined to do that...I don't know.
I see you are also optimistic about the Cardinals and Lions' chances this season. I think those two teams could really surprise a lot of people this year. FIRE MILLEN!!
I agree with most of your predictions - Baltimore, Buffalo, St. Louis, the Giants, etc. Pretty dead on, actually.
But yeah, you need to stop sh*tting on my Jets! They won 10 games last year with a new defensive system (the 3-4), and no running game. Thomas Jones doesn't have to be great, he just has to be an average running back; the Jets didn't even have that much last year. Also, they drafted really well, filling some big needs (particularly at CB). They'll have a tougher schedule this year, especially early, but they'll win 9-11 games, and end up competing not just for the wild card, but also for the division (Pats won't top 10 wins, especially with the suspension).
I think the Bills improvement will cause the Jets to win fewer games this season in one way or another....maybe magically....delicious
Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens both suck, NY Jets? 7-9 tops, and that's only because their defense is somewhat decent.
I like my boy throwing up a 9-7 Lions record. If that happens, I think Matt Millen will get a key to the city AND another contract extension.
Cowboys, 11-5???? haha, pass whatever it is you're smoking to the left bro.. I need a hit.
