I just happened across this piece on You Tube a minute or two ago and had to share it with everyone. Have you ever sat there while watching a real life boxing match and just thought “Man, why can’t these guys go at it like they do in the Rocky movies?”. Or maybe you’ve sat there while watching any of the Rocky movies and thought “Man, why does real life boxing suck compared to this?”. For one, real life boxing doesn’t have cool theme music (“War”) to cue moments of excitement and put a knot in your stomach when your favorite fighter is on the ropes. For two, most likely someone would die in every fight if real boxing was like a Rocky movie. Turns out that the Hearns vs. Hagler fight above is one of the exceptions to the dying part. These guys just completely waylay each other. It is absolutely awesome. Enjoy!
That was only Round 1! Hagler ended up knocking out Hearns in Round 3! I believe my Dad and I watched that as it happened. Those were the days.....Interesting story about Hagler is how he just left boxing after a controversial loss to Sugar Ray Leonard. If you ever get to watch the HBO Documentary on that fight, don't miss it
